Maple syrup is a plant-based alternative to honey. It is known from the master cleanse diet, and of course as a pancake syrup. Yet this sweetener is so much more than that. You can cook and bake with it (macrobiotic) and use it as a base for dressing, sauce and ice cream. Maple comes from the maple tree. It produces a sugary juice every year. We drain that in Canadian spring and boil it into syrup.
The difference between amber rich taste (grade A) and dark robust taste (grade C)? Grade A has a lighter colour and is particularly suitable for dressings and (pancake) desserts. You can't help but love this!
Also available in 500 ml and grade C.
How to use it
- Replace liquid sugars, such as honey and agave syrup, 1 to 1 with maple syrup. Replace 100 g of white or caster sugar with 65 ml of maple syrup.
How you keep it
- After opening, store in the refrigerator until the expiration date.
